11 Months...last month before 1 year!

Landon turned 11 months yesterday! I just can't believe that we are creeping up on a year old. It makes me so sad in some ways because we don't know for 100% sure if we will be able to have another baby. BUT I am so thankful that I at least have Landon. He is honestly the light of my life. I love spending days with him, making him laugh. I can't believe how much I love him. My heart feels ready to burst when I think about it. I am so blessed! So here are the things I will report about our little turkey!

*He is a chatterbox. Most the time he is just chattering away. It's very cute. Right now everyone is Dada.
*He isn't really interested in walking at this point. That is okay with me. He is a handful right now, I will take as much time as I can get before he is even more mobile!
*Landon LOVES books. I can't even tell you. He loves to look through them by himself. He really loves to be read to though. Usually I will start reading to him and he will cry when I stop. I am so glad though. Nate and I both love reading so it was kind of inevitable. His favorite books right now are Hello Bee Hello Me, The Ear Book, and You Are My Sunshine. But he will listen to most anything. We are really excited for the day that we can read the Harry Potter series to him. :)
*He is a very happy baby!! He smiles and laughs LOTS! And he is a lot like his mommy in the fact that he loves to make people laugh. He is a little ham.
*Landon LOVES music. He dances to it, he loves to lead music too. He will copy the chorister at church, and will also just do it when we are playing it at home. I also have had the feeling a few times that he is trying to sing. Today he was pounding on his little piano and making these noises like singing. It was cute!
*Landon loves his mommy. I think most kids do at this point just because mommy is usually the softy. He usually tries to get to me when he notices me...and of course it melts my heart!
*He loves going bye-bye. He knows what it means these days. Usually once we get in the car and go and get to wherever we are getting out he starts freaking out because he knows he is getting out. His eyes get all big and he kicks his feet.
*Sadly Nate is still out of work after being laid off. We are praying so hard that Heavenly Father has something in the works for him, but grateful that this time we have unemployment.

We are so super excited to spend our first Christmas as a family. Having a little baby, especially a boy, has made me contemplate the birth of the Savior in a whole new light. It has made me have more feelings and love for Mary as his mother. How much she must have loved Jesus. There is nothing like a mother's love. We hope that all of our friends and loved ones have a wonderful Holiday season, full of love and joy! <3 p="p">

Landon is 10 months!

I totally missed 10 months! Horrible! So it will be brief and scanty for 10 months!

*Landon was a skunk for Halloween! He was SO cute!!!! We visited a few houses to show him off and then went up to Grandpa and Grandma's house. It was a fun night!
*Landon tried Thanksgiving food for the first time! He really seemed to like the turkey and mashed potatoes, but overall he isn't really a picky eater.
*He also tried spaghetti for the first time and he loved it! He got all messy, but that is what babies do!
*Took another trip to the zoo. We always have a blast there! It was very slow so we got to take our time, and just enjoy the park!
That is about all I can remember! :)

Landon is 9 Months!

I can't believe how fast time is going! Not too long until my baby turns 1! It's so sad but so exciting to see him growing up and learning new things. Things going on with Landon:

*His top 2 teeth are coming in. That has been kind of hard, but not as bad as the first teeth thankfully!
*He started clapping by himself. He still needs some encouragement but it's so cute to watch him clap. He has started clapping during music too!
*He loves music and LOVE to dance. He is so cute when he does, and usually if he starts crying I just turn some on and he instantly starts smiling and dancing. I have found my secret weapon!
*He is getting so much more fun with family. We took him up to his grandparents and he was just loving all the attention from his Grandparents and his aunt and uncles. It is so fun to watch them all together. So thankful for a loving family...there is nothing better!
*He is able to stand up for a few seconds, but isn't very interested in doing it often. He stands up great though and walks along furniture and stuff like a champ.
*He LOVES his toys. Lately he has really gotten in to pushing his little train around the room. It is so much fun to watch him play.
*He is finally actually crawling instead of dragging himself by the army crawl. Its cute to watch him crawl!
*He loves to have his teeth brushed! When I stop he cries!
*He loves going for walks. He will just sit quietly the whole time and look around at the world. He takes after his parents a lot in that way. It's really relaxing to take him for walks, gives me time to think. :)
*Still only really saying Dada as far as recognizable words (though he doesn't use it for Nate). He has become quite the chatterbox lately.
*He is generally a pretty happy boy and loves people and animals.

I'm not the best at posting on here, but I will post pictures later of him in his halloween cosutme! :)

8 Months!

Can't believe he is 8 months! Time just flies!
Things Landon is up to now:
*He pulls up pretty much all day long now. He has let go a couple of times, but he hasn't really tried anything other then pulling up.
*He is SO curious! He always wants to be messing around with everything. Like currently he is playing with the garbage can.
*He is starting to laugh when we laugh. The other night we were watching something that made Nate and I laugh and he just started laughing hard because we were. It was so cute!
*He is getting scared of things. Sounds, the birds, even Grandpa Mike when he is first handed to him. I guess it's just a phase...hopefully.
*His nights are pretty predictable. He gets VERY tired right around 10. He is still pretty picky in the fact that EVERYTHING has to be off. But he goes down easy most nights. He has slept through the night the past couple of nights, but I am not holding my breath that he will continue that!
*His naps during the days are inconsistent and sporadic. Some days he will take a 3 or 4 hour nap, other days he will cat nap here and there.
*He loves to be outside. We will go sit out of the porch sometimes and he will just sit there for quite awhile with me and enjoy the outside.
*He loves toys. He has figured out how to put the ball in his little giraffe toy, and yesterday figured out how to get his Mickey Mouse toy to pop up. He is smart!!
*He love to be read to, but is in the grabby phase too. He is learning to turn the pages by himself.
*He said Mama for the first time a couple of nights ago and nothing since. But it made me tear up!

Still just loving on our little boy! So blessed! :)

Angels Walking Beside Us

I cannot believe that my baby is almost 8 months old! I have already forgot what it was like to have Landon in my belly. To have a newborn baby...it just all goes SO fast! I keep thinking it must be even more fast when you have more then one. I can't even imagine!
We have been having fun this summer, but the leaves are starting to change on the mountain already. That means winter is not too far away. I am excited for Fall though. I want to try to take Landon to an actual pumpkin patch for Halloween. I think that would be fun.
I had the most scary experience of my life this last weekend. My sister had her girls over, and I was talking to one of them in our room. Nate stepped out for a minute but I thought he was going to be right back. All the sudden I realized Landon wasn't with us anymore. Next second we hear thumping down the stairs and then Landon screaming. I can hardly remember how it all happened, I remember starting to say oh my gosh over and over as I was trying to get out of our room. I fell down and hit my knee somewhere and somehow. I can just see Landon, Nate and my sister at the bottom of the stairs. I was screaming and bawling...my sister said go get his stuff and go to the ER NOW. So I ran back upstairs and grabbed Landon's diaper bag (which had nothing in it!) and the car seat. I mean I was hysterical. I just remember I grabbed the car seat first and my sister said grab the diaper bag and I threw the car seat at her...lol. Yeah I was just in a haze. So we got him in the car and in the driveway my sister grabbed my shoulders and said you need to calm down! Your baby needs you now so calm down, take a few breaths...so I tried too. She also said "do no let him fall asleep!" That was all he wanted to do. So on the drive to the hospital, Landon was a ghostly pale...I mean I have never seen him look more white. He kept falling asleep and I screamed at Nate, drive as fast as you dare, he is pale and won't stay awake! So Nate went 80 or 85 down the freeway, I just kept saying in my mind please be no cops. I was singing to Landon, trying to keep him awake.
We got to the hospital and of course there were a ton of people there. I went running in with Landon, bawling, and screamed at the lady please my baby fell down the stairs!!! So they got us checked in, but we ended up sitting for probably 20 minutes, trying to keep Landon awake. I just sat in the chair, tears running down my cheeks thinking over and over it's my fault...it's my fault. And please Heavenly Father let him be okay. After all it took to get us here, please don't let him be hurt...they got us back and in to a room. We didn't see a dr until probably close to 30 minutes later and at that point Landon was back to acting like his normal self. He had a red spot on his left forehead, but he was chattering, flinging his arms around...just acting normal. The Dr came in, checked him over and said he looked fine. I mean I was shocked. And I still can't believe he has no bruises...no rug burns, even the spot on his forehead faded by the next morning. I just know in my heart that Landon was watched over. There is no doubt in my mind about it. My Mom broke both of her arms falling down those stairs...so I know the potential. I know baby's are more flexible...but to have NO marks on him at all? Unlikely...
Nate slept by Landon's crib that night...I slept in the bed because my knee was about 3 times it's normal size at that point. I had an X ray the next day and so far it seems fine.
I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for watching over our baby boy. I mean he is such a miracle...I have to feel that he has a purpose to fulfill here. I just cannot even express how close I have felt angels around us these past few days...
I am also so thankful for my Sister. I just can't even express how thankful I am that she was here. I am a huge believer that we are sent to earth at a specific time because I know my sister has been my rock SO many times.
It's hard being a mom! But I am so thankful for all of it. Even the hard and scary stuff.

7 Months!

I am not at the end of the month! Wohooo! Hahaha. So Landon is 7 months. There have been more trips to the zoo, trips to grandparents, family bbq's. Been a fun and awesome summer! I am too lazy to list them all, so just know, we are having a great time as a family!
Landon is currently:
*Army Crawling
* Really loving solid food (finally!)
*Pulling himself up on everything! When he goes from his tummy to his bum, he looks at you like he wants you to applaud him! Its so funny!
*Talking like CRAZY!
*Crying like CRAZY!
*Laughing and smiling like CRAZY!
*Still just to the two teeth but they are a lot more noticeable now!
*Loving certain toys. It's cute to see his face light up when you pull out some of his favorites.

We are loving being parents. It is just great. It's hard, but the hard moments are so few and far between! We are just loving life, and loving our little boy!
In other news, I am getting a little more concerned about posting pictures of Landon...There is just too much concern for people to steal them off my blog...so I may end up going private. I am not really sure who even reads this blog anymore! But if you would be interested in still reading, could you comment? I also might find the energy to post more if I am not as concerned about things. Thanks!

6 months (I'm late!)

Sorry for the delay. This has been a big month for Landon, and holidays and you know...summer. Landon turned 6 months on the 4th of July. I can't believe it, it has gone by SO fast! I miss my tiny little baby! It is so fun to watch him grow, but in the back of my mind I am always realizing how fleeting every precious moment is with him.
Things Landon is doing now:
*Army Crawling! He is getting close to doing an actual crawl, for about a week now he will get up on his knees and rock back and forth. So I know it's coming!
*He is getting pretty good at sitting up. He does topple over though sometimes still.
*He has his first 2 teeth! Oh they were a nightmare when they were breaking through. I hope you have a little respite from the teething for a bit. It's hard and painful work getting those teeth out!
*Saying Mama, Dada and Hhhheeee. He has no clue what they mean, but loves it when we repeat them back.
*Getting his own sense of humor. This kid is weird...lol. Or maybe just like his Mom. But he laughs at very random things. Sadly he is like his dad in the fact that you have to work at getting him to laugh.
*Clapping with his hands open. You still have to do the clapping for him, but I thought that was great!
*Really starting to notice the world around him. We went to the zoo on Saturday and he was actually watching the animals. It was so fun!
I don't have his stats because he is 1 month behind on his shots and well baby visits. But based on when he was last weighed he is probably nearing 18 pounds!! He is a solid kid! The weird thing is though he seems THIN for that weight. He is still wearing size 3 month pants and they are still kind of loose around his waist! He has a very long torso and short legs, just like his Daddy!
I love being a Mom. I feel so bad for women who choose to not have children, they are missing out on one of the most precious, most humbling, most sacred and special experiences a woman can have. I feel like I am finally doing what I was meant to do in this life. And I love it. Don't get me wrong, I have my moments where I feel overwhelmed. But after 7 years of praying for this baby it is easy to dredge up some memories that quickly get me back in line!
Here are some pictures from his 6 month birthday!

Landon is 5 Months!

Apparently I just posting monthly now, haha! Landon turned 5 months on the 4th. I cannot believe we are already so close to half a year! Time has just flown by since we had him. I love that everyday is full of cuddles and smiles and coos. Life is good.
Landon is getting more and more mobile. He rolls all ways now, and has started to roll for things out of his grasp. When he sees something he really wants he tries so hard to get to it, but has since started scooting backwards. He cannot figure out why he gets further and further away from what he is trying to reach!
He chews on his fingers like mad. He tries to stick his whole fist in his mouth at times and I have to say he pretty much can. He drools like a maniac so I am sure teeth are not too far away, but no sign of them yet. It will be so weird to look at him and see teeth when he smiles!
He does this cute thing with his hands...I can't even explain it, I need to catch it on video, but he opens and closes them when they are grasped together. I really need to get it on video. He totally has his mommy's sense of humor! He was laughing so hard tonight in the car because I was say Hi to him. It is the BEST sound in the world...I tell you!
He is really getting more interested in toys, especially ones that make noises. He loves to play with anything that is crinkly. He is getting really good at passing things back and forth between his hands. He is making a lot more noise lately too. He had like 3 days where he just chattered all day long. Then he is quiet again, I think he is listening. And then it will start again!
He loves the cats, especially Angel. He starts flailing his arms and legs around trying to get to her when she is nearby. It is so cute. He loves to be outdoors. A couple of days ago there was a breeze blowing and he was really interested in what was making the leaves rustle. It was really cute.
He still loves people to interact with him, though I see him getting a bit more cautious about people now. He will smile at them though if they work for it. And most people do! He prefers his mommy to put him to sleep. And this is new. He used to be totally fine with Daddy putting him to sleep, but at the beginning of the week he just started screaming and screaming until Daddy finally gave in and handed him to mommy. It made Nate really sad. But I know it is just a phase. When he gets older I know it will be I want Daddy all the time!
Other then that life has been pretty mundane lately. Looking forward to some things this summer. Here are a few pictures of my little monkey! :)

Landon is 4 months old!!!

This blog is being so neglected, and I am sorry for whoever is reading it! Just be rest assured it's because we are loving on our little guy SO much!
Things that have happened in the last month. Landon has learned to roll from his back to his tummy. He gets stuck going the other way though, so it usually ends up with him screaming. He is getting there though. He tried cereal for the first time. He also tried green beans, but after a bought of constipated baby, we have backed off the solids. We might try again next month or just hold off until 6 months.
The biggest adventure Landon has had is going to the zoo for the first time!!! It was fun to take him, even though he really couldn't understand what he was looking at. Unless the animal was brightly colored, he wasn't very interested. It was fun though.
Time is just flying. We will be leaving our baby for the first time while we go see a movie this weekend, and I tear up when I think about it. I just hate the thought of being away from him, but I know it will be good for all of us. I just wish time would slow down, and taking care of mundane life tasks wouldn't get in the way of spending oodles of time just loving on my little man.
I absolutely love being a mom. It is more exhausting that I ever imagined. But it has made me feel SO fulfilled with my life. I feel almost complete now that I have Landon. I am hoping and praying there are more babies up there waiting to come to our family, but if not I feel so blessed to have my little monkey.
He is such a good baby for the most part. He is content to look around at the world. When we are in the car he rarely goes to sleep unless he is really tired. He loves to look out the window. He loves people to interact with him. He smiles at people who try to coax one out of him. He is just the absolute sunshine of my life!!!
Here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. :)

3 Months, encounters with eggs and other things!

I have been so neglectful of this blog! But I hope you all realize it's because I am soaking up every SECOND of being a mom. Now that things are getting more in a routine, things are SO much better. Nate is still looking for a job, so things are stressful in that regard. But as far as being a new mom and everything, everything is better! Now I know what to expect when having a new baby, so hopefully if there is a number 2 things will be more calm with a newborn!
Anyways, Landon is now 3 months old!!! He is exploring his world a lot more now. He LOVES to look at people, he smiles ALL the time unless he is hungry, then he cries. But he is such a good baby!!! I feel so blessed. His sleeping patterns are more predictable too which is nice. He sleeps about 4 hours in between feedings. I am hoping someday he will sleep through the night!
He is starting to get more interested in what his hands can do. Sometimes he just will put one above his face and stare at it. He also is realizing he can control it and swipes at things. Its really fun to see him bat at his toys when I put him on his play gym.
Grandma and Grandpa also bought him a crib! They were so worried about some of the issues he is having with his head and things, so they bought one for him. I am SO grateful that Landon has such loving and supportive Grandparents. And I love watching them with him. They are so in love with him!!! :)
Other then that, we have been trying to get out and enjoy the warm weather. Landon is content to go for walks, and I love that he loves looking around the world. I just can't say it enough but he is such a good baby!!! I feel so blessed!
Easter was low key this year, especially since we don't have money! But we colored Landon an Easter egg with Grandpa and his cousins. We got him a little basket that had some bubble bath in it, and a bowl since he will probably starting cereal in the next couple of months. Of course it's a Mickey Mouse one.
That is about all for now! Just loving being a family, and realizing time goes SO fast with a baby...we are soaking it all in and loving on our little boy all the while! :)
Almost 3 months!!
Daddy and Landon coloring Easter Eggs

First time in the Snugli! He likes it!
First encounter with an egg!

  • First sleep in his new crib! He LOVES his crib!!!

Landon's Blessing Day

In our religion, we bless our babies instead of a baptism. It was such a beautiful day. It ended up being sunny which was nice! We had so many friends and family come to support us, it was a wonderful day! My heart was so full as his mom. I was overwhelmed with this sense of love for him, and I could feel how much his Heavenly Father loves him. It was a beautiful feeling. It also is a scary one, I feel so inadequate as his mom. I wonder so often how I can instill a love for his Heavenly Father and Savior inside of him. How I can encourage him to serve a mission and all those things that lay ahead of him as a priesthood holder...it feels like an impossible job! But I know Heavenly Father makes up for our inadequacies, and He will guide us as to how to raise him.
Landon LOVES his Papa Robite. He started to fuss, and Nate's dad took him and he instantly quieted and just was so entranced with his Papa. It is so cute to see them together. Landon has so many people around him that love him, and I am so grateful for the wonderful, positive influences he will have as he grows up.
Anyhow, here are a few pictures from the day!

5 things I have learned at 2 months...

This Sunday will mark 2 months that I have been a mommy. I can't believe it! Time goes so fast, Landon is growing so fast, and I just wish sometimes things went slower! It's amazing to see the changes in him though, so it's kind of a toss up.
Here are 5 things I have learned about being a mom so far though.
1. Sleep is the best medicine to what ails you as a mom. A nap, a night off...however you can get it. It helps refocus and refresh me. This leads me to number 2.
2. I could NOT do this without Nate. I don't know how single moms do it. I could not. Nate comes home from work ready to do whatever I need him to. If I say I need to go out he says ok. If I say I need a little nap he says ok. He changes diapers, makes and cleans bottles, plays with the baby...whatever is needed. He has been pretty much the only reason I have not lost my mind!!!
3. Being a first time mom is scary. You make mistakes...you learn to laugh at them. You will get peed on. You will get dirty and you will be wearing a ponytail most days. Sometimes you won't even eat a hot meal. You will call you dr over everything and that is okay. But you will see that big gummy smile several time a day and it will melt your heart every time and remind you it's all worth it!!!
4. Get out ALONE. No baby. No husband...maybe a girlfriend would be okay. But for sure no baby or husband. I go out at least once a week by myself. After an hour or two I start to REALLY miss Landon. I come home refreshed and ready to be mommy again. And I smother my baby's face in kisses!!!
5. Remember these moments are finite and numbered! So even when it's a hard day remember it will someday be a memory! And you will miss all the things that come with being a mommy!

As far as Landon, here are a few things we experienced this week. He has started reaching for stuff!!!! He just woke up yesterday and started reaching for toys and faces! It's amazing!!!! Last night it was quiet, Landon was asleep and Nate and I were busy doing quiet things and all the sudden we heard this laugh come from our little boy!! It was so sweet!!! One of the best memories so far.
We had a family get together on Sunday, and Nate's dad help Landon for quite awhile and it was awesome to see. Landon was just totally enthralled with him. He couldn't take his eyes off him! That was the longest anyone has help him except Nate and I where he hasn't fussed. It was neat!
So that its for now! :)

V Day, 8 years together and other things!

It's been a little while since I posted! I am sure not too many people miss out though since my posts are mostly about Landon anyway. Let's see Valentine's Day was boring. Nate had to work, so Landon and Mommy just hung out together like most days! Nate brought me home some flowers and it was funny to see Landon's face when he was smelling them and looking at them. Valentine's Day has always been very low key for us because our anniversary is only 5 days later. Its fun though to see all the Valentine's day stuff out. It's like the whole world is celebrating our special day. :)
Our Anniversary was also low key this year. But it is our first year with a little one. So, we just went out to lunch the day before. We also had a visit from Nate's Mom and Sister which was fun. Other then that we both crashed early like usual! Seems like that is the way of things lately. We are both usually passed out around 10 or 11 these days.
Things Landon has been up to....he is getting SO good at holding up his head on his own! I just can't believe it! He has gone through a growth spurt and is mostly out of his newborn sized clothes. In some ways it makes me sad that he is growing so fast and time is going so fast. It took so long to get him here and now I feel like I can't always enjoy it!
We got him an activity gym and he loves it. It has lights that flash to music and it always captivates him! He coos at it and kicks his feet a lot. He also seems to enjoy sitting in his bumbo seat. He isn't a really cuddly baby, he would rather sit somewhere so he can observe everything that is going on.

Going out for our Anniversary!
Other then that time goes on! He will be blessed in about a week and a half. Sometimes I worry that I waited too long, but we wanted to be really careful about RSV. But expect pictures of that coming soon! :)

1 Month Old!

Landon turned 1 month on February 4th! I found these cute onesies at Kid to Kid! It came with onesies for 1 month, 3, 6, 9, months and one year! They were only 5 bucks, originally 40! So I figured they would be fun to get! New things Landon is doing, he is holding his head up so well! We have noticed that turning his head to his left seems a bit harder for him, he favors his right so I have been trying to exercise his neck the other way.
He LOVES stripes! I have 2 board books that have a picture of Zebra's in them and he is totally enthralled by them! Last night when I read him a new book with a Zebra he had this huge smile on his face! It was cute!
He sleeps pretty well most the time. He is getting more and more alert during the day. I am so glad though that his daddy can put him down. It has been important to both Nate and I that he be able to calm him and all that, and so far it's working. There are times he wants his mommy but he is fine with his daddy most of the time!
We are still only feeding him 3 ounces every 2-3 hours. We are both excited for when we don't have to get up that often anymore, but we will have to see when that happens.
Landon also loves crinkly noises. He is getting better at grasping things and still prefers the green pacifiers from the hospital. I keep buying new ones thinking he will move on from those ones, but I just keep wasting money! So I have been forbidden from buying anymore pacifiers.
We are planning to take him to church for the first time on Sunday. It will probably be just to Sacrament Meeting because we are both still really nervous about RSV. But it should be fun to take him.
So that is 1 month old in a nutshell! We are both LOVING being parents! :)

Zombie's

I feel Nate and I have become zombie's. I am forgetting what it was like to sleep whenever I wanted, as long as I wanted. And particularly through the night! I miss it. But, I wouldn't trade sleep for anything right now. I love my little boy, and he is worth the lack of sleep. It would be a lot easier to deal if I didn't get migraine's though. I have been getting them horribly behind my eyes, especially on nights where I don't get sleep. Nate has been trying to help by letting me get more sleep, but like my Dr said, Mom's are always listening and aware at night, even when sleeping. And it's true. Even though I trust Nate implicitly with Landon, I still wake up every time he cries. I keep telling myself that this will be a short time in the grand scheme of things and hopefully in just a few more months we will be sleeping in 6 hour increments. I hope...lol.
Let's see, happenings around here. Nate lost his job, so obviously that has been a huge stress on our shoulders with a new baby. But so far we are making it and okay. Landon will be a month old here in just a few days, and I can't believe it! Time has just turned in to a big blur since he was born. But I love it. It's been the best month of my life so far.
Landon slept for almost 4 hours straight last night which was nice. We ended up switching bottles to the ones with liners because we were having problems with gas getting trapped in there. Since switching things are better. Grandma and Grandpa came and visited yesterday which was nice. They love their grandson so much already. I love seeing them interact with him.
I can't think of much else to write now, but I will be sure tor write one with some pics on his month "birthday". He totally has gone through a growth spurt though, people can't believe how different he looks. Until next time! :)

Stick out like a sore thumb!

First time parents totally do! I always joke with Nate about the funny things that happen to us, because we are first time parents. Like passing the baby back and forth. It's getting better, but in the beginning it was so awkward! Diaper changes go slowly, figuring out the fastest way to do it....but I have to say the funniest thing that happened to us was about a week ago we pulled out the stroller to go shopping in. We have one that the car seat snaps in to. Well, Nate pulls it out and starts getting Landon out of the car. All the sudden I hear this crash behind me and I was like what was that? Turn around and the stroller had rolled into the tire of the car next to us! Nate said afterward he was like "um where did the stroller go??" Oh man I was laughing and I am still laughing about it. Now he is very careful to make sure he puts the break on before getting Landon out.

Landon had his 2nd appointment with his pediatrician, and he is very healthy according to the Dr. He weighs 7 pounds 9 ounces, and has grown a half an inch. I just can't believe how fast time is going, that he is already over halfway to being a month old. Makes me realize how fast the next years will go, and it makes me sad!! I am excited to see his personality come through more, but at the same time really don't want him to grow up!! Overall though I am loving being a mommy. It's everything I imagined and so much more. I love my baby boy so much, he is my little miracle.

Landon is a 1 week old!

I can't believe that my baby is already a week old (10 days to be exact at this point!)! This mommy thing is so hard, harder then I ever imagined. I do have some good moments, but my hormones are so out of control!!!! I am hoping and praying they level out soon, so I can try harder to enjoy being a mommy.
Nate has been an AWESOME Daddy and husband this whole time. I am so scared and sad that he has to go back to work on Monday. I am just praying I can survive. This all may seem harsh, but this has literally been the biggest twist in my life! It's the reality as it is.
Things I know about Landon so far. He likes his binky sometimes. It just depends. He recently found his fingers, and sucks on them every once in awhile. He has explosions in his diapers which signal a diaper change is needed. He likes music, when I sing to him he seems to really be listening.
We have already had our first diaper rash, and it doesn't seem to be getting better, I am wondering if he is having a reaction to the diapers or wipes we are using. We will be sure to ask on Wednesday at our next pediatrician visit.
We both have had our share of "showers" courtesy of Landon. You would think I would learn to cover up while changing his diapers, but I have yet to master that.
So wish me luck, my first week alone with my little guy. I hope we both survive! :)

Landon's Birth Story!

Landon Michael
Born January 4, 2012
6:28 P.M.
7 Lb 3 Oz
19.5 inches

Daddy is in love! Right after birth.
Little baby boy! He is pretty cute!
First mommy/son encounter!
First outfit that wasn't the hospital shirt!
Daddy and baby. Just relaxing together at the hospital!
I really wanted to get Landon's birth story down as soon as I felt up to it so I could remember as much as I could! Hope you enjoy!
So on January 4th I was scheduled for an induction. I had to go in on the 3rd to start one drug that would start the whole process. Well we got there at 7 and there were basically just 2 or 3 rooms left! We could not believe how busy they were! So we got in to a room, Nate ran down and got me all checked in. So 8 rolls around, 9 rolls around, 10....we are just watching tv at this point. At 10:30 finally things started happening. I had been on the monitors for awhile because they want a good reading on my contractions and the baby's heart rate. Finally they put the first drug in. This one essentially stays in all night. I remember I was sleeping off and on and around 4:45 a.m. I started feeling some pain. My dr came in around 8, checked me, I was 1 cm dilated and 15% effaced at a +3 station. All of this means no where near delivery! They decide to go ahead and start the Pitocin which hopefully would start me dilating and effacing. So I was feeling contractions probably about every 5 minutes or so. They allowed me to walk around so we did at this point. It really helped with the contractions. Around 12 I noticed I was having a really hard contraction and it wasn't letting up at all. I looked at Nate and said I can't do this! A couple of minutes (which seemed like hours!!) later the nurse said lets turn it down, and I was thanking her profusely!! Haha! Around 1 my dr came over to check on me and guess what, still a 1!! After all those hours of laboring for nothing!!! So at that point he says, well I am really worried that his head can't come through. You have a really narrow birth canal. I suspected this about a month before I gave birth. It was just a feeling I had. So he said he would be back around 5 and either I would have a c section or I would have to come back and try again. I told him I cannot do this again. So if I still haven't then it's a c section.
At 2 the contractions were getting really hard to get through. So I asked for help. They gave me a drug that took the edge off and made me drowsy. So I slept a little here and there. I asked for more around 4 and they said we think we are going to go ahead and do the epidural. You will need it either way, so might as well. They checked me again before and they couldn't even reach my cervix anymore...yay. So we planned for a c section. The epidural wasn't too bad. I jumped when he put the numbing needle in. But other then that I really didn't mind it.
Around 5:30 we were wheeled in for surgery. I was sitting there a bit scared I was going to feel something but I didn't. They held up a mirror as my dr pulled him out and I just started bawling. He was born at 6:28 P.M. Nate just kept saying "he's out Tami, he's out!" they laid him on my belly and Nate cut the umbilical cord. They held him on my left side so I could see him, and then him and Nate went to do all the testing and first bath.
I remember sitting there laying on the table and just being in shock kind of that it was all over. They took me back to my room and I was shaking profusely. I think it was from the drugs they used. I of course still couldn't feel my legs because of the epidural. Finally Nate and Landon came back, Nate walked in saying "we have a healthy baby!" and then he was placed in my arms. I can't even explain all the emotions. He was SO sweet and precious, fresh from heaven. I was in AWE that my body had made this sweet little boy. Scared that I had no clue how to be a mother.
We have been home for a few days now and I will say it's not easy. He has his nights and days mixed up, so I am up most the night with him which is HARD! I am really starting to get scared for when I am home alone starting next week with him when Nate goes back to work. But hopefully by then I will be more confident. So that's the story!
